Job
Postings Increase Significantly in region after
flat weeks – indications of strong job growth
(Albany,
NY, April 10 , 2013) – Job
postings soared the past seven days to 1996 – just
short of 2000 – a strong rebound after a few flat weeks. “This is a very good sign. We haven’t seen a 7-day average
at 2000 for some time now – at least two years – and that is good for those
looking for a job and for the market in general”, stated Dan Moran, of
Next-Act (www.next-act.com),
a career transition management firm located in Colonie. “ While this is good news, we are still about 30% below the
highs of the market before the recession, but this is a good sign for sure.
Other markets in NYS didn’t see this bump – the Capital Region has outpaced the
rest of the state”.
Other
markets in NYS didn’t see the jump and continued to
be flat. The Capital Region continues to still outpace Buffalo,
Rochester and Syracuse, all larger markets with more employers and
population.
National
Job Scene
Job
postings increased strongly nationally. As of 4/10/13
there were 543, 948 up strongly from 519,000 the previous week.
