Job Postings Increase and Break 4000, Rebounding after holiday

(Albany, NY, July 13, 2011) – Job postings increased after the July 4th holiday to just over 4000, up from 3800 the week before which is a good sign, but nowhere near where they were at this time last year. Job postings are close to 2009 levels when we were in the midst of the deep recession. “There is some good news and not so good news. Postings didn’t plummet around the 4th holiday like in years past and that is good. However, postings are way off last years levels showing that the market is weaker, consistent with national reports, “” stated Dan Moran, Founder & President of Next-Act (www.next-act.com), a career transition management firm located in Colonie.

Job postings increased in other New York State markets this past week after the holiday week. Albany is the smallest market in size when compared to the other markets and continued to outpace with more job postings.
