Job Postings Drop Slightly on Heels of Holiday

(Albany, NY, July 7, 2011) – Job postings decreased again slightly this past week, coming in at just under 3800 on the heels of the long 4th of July holiday. “ This was fully expected. What is encouraging is that postings dipped less than 1% over last week. Typically over the course of a long major holiday week, it would not be uncommon to see a 20-25% drop; it didn’t happen, perhaps again signaling a stronger summer job market, good news for job seekers.” stated Dan Moran, Founder & President of Next-Act (www.next-act.com), a career transition management firm located in Colonie.

Job postings dropped rather significantly in other New York State markets this past week. Albany is the smallest market in size when compared to the other markets and continued to outpace with more job postings.
