Clean out for the New Year ...

Clutter is stuck energy. The word "clutter" derives from the Middle English word "clotter," which means to coagulate - and that's about as stuck as you can get."-  Karen Kingston

Did you spend some time cleaning out old “stuff – receipts, clothes what have you – this past week?
Many did or are planning to. This is the time of the year to clean out the old and welcome the new – and it is refreshing.

So too is cleaning out the “mind clutter” that has perhaps held you back from achieving this past year or two. The “clutter & stuff” that stops you dead in your tracks; the assumptions you make that stop forward progress:

So as you begin or continue your clean out process, look inside yourself and clean out:

  •  The unique ability to assume your way out of action – If I do this, then maybe they will say this or someone will think this. This is assuming and assuming can stop you dead in your tracks. In the Four Agreements – a book I swear by, read about assuming: Don’t Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. • The unfounded fears – those thoughts that enter in your mind just as you begin to move forward. Fear is an immobilizer for sure. Try adopting an attitude of jump in, swim or sink – what is the worst that can happen? Release fears – liberate your mind and soar
  •  The mind clutter – or general clutter – what just seems to hold back forward progress. Organize, get rid of the clutter, see a clear desk (or  clear vision) and you will find it easier to move forward. Clutter is things in the way – get rid of it.
  •  Your attitude – and this one is critical. If you think you will lose, you will lose. If you think you can’t, you will not be able to. If you think negatively about yourself and your prospects you will get what you think. Change it up. Think positive. Be with positive people and leave the negative naysayers in your dust.
Have fun. Get rid of the clutter. Begin 2013 with a clear vision, path and direction, and excel.
And thank you for reading this. - Dan
